Privacy Policy

MyLittleLink is a communication platform for South African preschools, schools and extramural programmes. It connects a school's staff with parents and guardians: daily care updates, photos, messages, calendars and billing: privately, inside the app.
We process personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Your school remains the responsible party for its community's information; MyLittleLink (Pty) Ltd acts as the school's operator and processes information only on the school's instructions.
What we collect
We process only what the school needs to run its day and keep families informed:
- Child profiles: name, date of birth, class or group, and the care notes the school records.
- Photos and videos of children: shared only under per-child, revocable image consent given by a parent or guardian. Without consent a child's media is suppressed, including incidental capture in group photos.
- Health information needed for daily care: allergies, medication instructions, incident and wellbeing records. POPIA treats health information as special personal information; we process it solely for the child's care and safety.
- Guardian contact details: name, email address and phone number, used for sign-in and school communication. Phone numbers are never shared between parents and staff.
- Account and technical data: sign-in events, notification delivery and the basic device information needed to run the service securely.
Why we process it
- To deliver the school's daily communication: care updates, photos, messages, announcements, calendars and reports.
- To keep children safe: allergy, medication and incident records available to the staff caring for them.
- To run the school's administration and billing.
- To secure the service: authentication, abuse prevention and audit trails.
Where your information lives
MyLittleLink runs on Google Cloud in the africa-south1 region (South Africa). Your community's information is stored and processed in South Africa.
How long we keep it
- Daily-log photos and videos are automatically deleted after 2 weeks.
- Incident media is archived securely for 1 year.
- Other records are kept only for as long as the school needs them or the law requires, and are deleted when a school ends its use of the service.
Your rights
As a parent or guardian you may, at any time and through your school:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you or your child.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of information the school no longer needs to hold.
- Withdraw your child's image consent: new photos of your child stop being shared immediately.
- Object to processing, or complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
What we never do
- We never sell personal information.
- We show no third-party advertising, and we never share children's information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We collect nothing from children directly: all information is provided by the school or by parents and guardians.
