Your school's data is stored in South Africa: africa-south1, in Johannesburg. Sending children's personal information to a processor outside the country needs prior authorisation from the Information Regulator under section 57(1)(d). We simply don't send it.

What happens to our data?
It stays in South Africa. We host in africa-south1, and we do not send children's information to a processor outside the country.
Do parents need a smartphone?
Any Android that runs a browser. The parent feed is built for a R2,500 phone on prepaid data, and there is a Data Saver setting for parents who want it.
What if the internet goes down?
A teacher can log a whole day offline. It sends itself when the signal comes back.
